Full Bucket Music has released FB3, a free plugin that recreates the Kawai K3/K3m synthesizer from 1986. It includes the factory sounds built into the original hardware and supports up to 64 voices of polyphony, offering broader use than the original hardware.
The plugin’s interface can also be used as a programmer to edit parameters on real K3/K3m hardware. It can import and export SysEx data and user wave data, so existing hardware users can bring in their own patches. MIDI Learn lets every parameter be controlled via MIDI CC. FB3 is written in native C++ code, keeping CPU usage low. It is available for Windows and macOS in VST, VST3, AU, AAX and CLAP formats. More details are available on the Full Bucket Music website.
