"Zugzegk" is another skronky math rock banger

Microtonal math rock aliens Angine de Poitrine made their US TV debut last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and they took the opportunity to premiere a new song called “Zugzegk.”
The new song — which Fallon pronounced by what sounded like clearing his throat — pushes the complex microtonal skronk of Vol. 2 possibly even further, with guitarist/bassist Khn creating dense, complicated guitarmonies over top of Klek’s start-stop rhythms, nicely employing the duo’s signature trick of employing herky-jerky rhythms that eventually coalesce into a surging groove.
